Just a few more days for valentines day... I know many people hate this day, and feel that its overrated and mostly just for advertising purposes, I agree on a 50% basis, why do you need ONE day to show the person you love how much you love them? why not everyday?? But then again, its nice to have that ONE day a year to get spoilt extra rotten! Good luck to all the single peeps out there! And good luck to all the cassanovas and babes who are gonna have a trail of stalkers on their cases, time to get out those restraining orders again! hope you make it through!! Always remember;"I love you" is an 8 letter phrase, but then again... so is "Bullshit"

Yet another year will go by and Phlippy without a Valentine... Sniff. I love spoiling my girl - love it to bits... and when I have one I do it often. Valentines Day is just an excuse, as you so eloquently put it, to spoil her EXTRA rotten :-)

I personally dont get what the fuss is about. when it comes to romantic or not.... at the end of the day when all is said and done. I promiss you that its not the roses and dinners youl remember... its when he remember that rainy days are for Harry potter movies and nick nacks... you wont remember a single rose or valintine... youl remember how his face lit up when you came home after work, or how he thought you were sexy in your tracsuit pants and slippers.
I agree that its nice to be spoilt but Valintines day has nothing to do with real love and more to do cardies profit margin
Hi Sam - great blog! I forgot Valentine's was just around the corner, how stressful! Think my single mates and I are just going to have to send each other flowers at the office so we don't feel left out.

@ lee - Yeah, that is real love, a guy that sees you first thing in the morning, with your hair all over the place, your eyes puffy and swolen, and your favourite worn out shirt, and still looks at you with the most admiring look, and tells you that he has never seen anything so beautiful before in his life... that is love!!

Yeah so yes this spesific day are just some adverticing and marketing gimmik, It's still nice as every girl sits on Valantines Day thinking deep down in the back of there floating courk, I wounder if I'll get something today and then to recieve something, mmmmm...
And every man who sended a rose a flower a choclate a idee, to know they made some one they care about smile and happy.

When I realised you're in SA, I groaned because I'd MUCH rather be in Zim or SA than "Computer Says No" England.
Another year goes by and I guess I'll have to buy myself a box of chocolates..No caramel. or peanuts or anything crunchy..Well this is going to be a sucky V-day! ugh..

Romance my friend has nothing to do with resturants. it has nothing to do with flowers and less than nothing to do with flowers.
Romance is in the little things.
When Johan asked me to marry him it was in aresturant and he did the candle thing and gues what I remember about it.... I remember the next morning when I woke up and I caught him looking at the ring on my finger.
That is romance when somebody can really show you he cares.
As for Stiffla you know what makes him romantic in the real sense of the word. the fact that when Im upset he makes me coffee and then goes away cos he knows I need space.
and the way he always has some nonsensical game going on.
I need you to remember that Stiffla and I are terribly happy together and never not once was there any of this soppy rubbish involved.

nosjunkie .. i agree with u on some notes .. but not all .. romance is in the flowers .. WHY? because for someone it might be a small thing .. romance is not just in a flower but it's on every petal ... that's romance :) ..
The key point - It's all depends on intention .. i agree it's not in the restaurants .. but it's in having dinner TOGETHER no matter where ... even in a restaurant or a simple dinner at home. Well home dinners can be fancy too.
While the premise is good..the actual commercialism and pressure is terrible!! I remember having to make Valentine's Day cards for people in my class in gradeschool and I hated doing it. And it seems that the expectation for couples is almost comparable to Christmas...and if you're single, forget it! Why should there be just one day to celebrate your relationship...and why should anyone have to do it at the same time at the millions of others? is there a bah-humbug word applicable to Valentines?
