You reached yours?

I still remember sitting in my classroom, I was in Grade 8 and my teacher (always trying to act like she loved being there, but if you looked deeper you could see she wanted to slap the living shit outta everyone of her students) anyways, she was busy explaining an essay we had to do, the topic was "Where do I see myself in 10 years?" So it was 1998 when I was writing that, 9 years ago. I remember writing that I wouldve wanted to start a family already, been a glorified mommy... I wanted to travel the world, I wanted to have signed a contract with a famous label (Hey, dont laugh! I sound real good in the shower!!) But here I am... 9 years later, and I havent achieved any of those things yet.. Back then I was eager to have children, but now I just dont think I'm emotionally ready for it... decided that I wanted to start when I turn 26. Strange how ones perceptions can change as they grow older... Those were my dreams... so if I havent reached them yet... does it mean my life is unfulfilled?

Dreams change all the time, mine change on a weekly basis. I wanted to be so many things and haven't done them yet, but I think I have all the time in the world!

see I don't think so because our dreams change when we experience things and our perspective changes on live. I know my dreams are different now that they were then and I haven't archived most of them. I think the most important thing is to be happy

Sam you shoulfd be glad your dreams and views have changed. you would not want to remain that same 15 year old girl with little life experience and maturity.
Sometimes we want the wrong things and forget to see what is right there. perhaps u have reached other dreams u have yet to consider....

There are lots things I haven't accomplished and I used to get depressed about it. But putting a time line on your life makes it hard to live life to the fullest because you are always thinking about what you SHOULD be doing, apposed to what you ARE doing to make you happy. Does that make any sense? :)

LOL...things change as you get older, don't they? When I was 14/15, I figured that I'd be married around 24/25 with a family...now I'm in my 30's, still single and can't even imagine having been married back then!!! Go with the flow!!

Your life isn't unfulfilled if you're happy, things just change as you get older and wiser. Not necessarily a bad thing!

Sam, dear, of course it doesn't mean your life is unfilled. Our dreams change, right? Do you still want those same dreams? I'll bet not. (Or maybe you do.) Chances are you have different dreams now and many of those might be fulfilled one of these days.
