Its Started....

Well, there are only 2 days left for Valentines day, and nobody at my work knew this up untill today, so there is major panic going on here... What to buy? Where to go for dinner? What lingerie to purchase for that seductive night! I have realised now, that it really is all about money.... nothing else.... I apologise for being stupid enough to think that there mightve been a bit of good left in it.... Coz if you really need to show your love to that special "somebody" you dont have to go ALL out! Its the littlest things that count! Try not to waste too much money on it this year guys!

I agree 100%. As far as our special someones are concerned, every day should be Valentine's Day, right?

Hey Sam! Thanks for linking to me. You're a Sweetheart! I am going to do the same right now.

Happy Valentine's Day. Mucho hugs and kisses.

pleasure hun! I enjoy reading yours! Much quicker to just click on the link and go, instead of looking for previous comments from you and going in through there! lol.

I don't generally do anything for valentines day, and I don't think I ever will. Girls, call me mean, or horrible, but think about it, what is the point.
Get all excited, just to do something you should be doing anyway.

If you love a girl, tell her everyday. If you want to buy her a teddy bear, do it out of the blue. I'm sure she would appreciate it more if it is for no reason, and she is not expecting anything.

Thats just my opinion, I might be wrong.

Agreed, sometimes a nice evening picnic in the garden is just perfect! I had actually forgotten that valentines day is this week... have a loved up one everyone!

There is only one thing that needs to be done on Valentines day. Make your girlfriend feel even more like a princess than you do ever single other day that you are with her. Make her feel more loved and let her know in every way you look at her, touch her and talk to her. that is what it should be about.

It's totally the little things for me! I'm not a dozen roses kinda girl..I'd rather have a single flower that you know I'll love...most girls aren't like that though :-(
So, they just realized it's in 2 days. Do they think the day changes every year, 'cause I'm pretty sure it's the same day every year!

sam, its always been about money here in america, sadly. days like feb 14th make hallmark cards quite happy.

I have to admit, I have spent quite a lot on my Valentines pressie for the Chubbs, but seeing as this is our first Valentines together, I think I'm allowed! LOL

@ duzbin - I totally agree with you, I mean, its much better to get a teddy or a bunch of roses out of the blue, than getting it the same day as everybody else.... makes it so much more special

@ allek - Im sure sometimes you wish you could waste some money on a girl right?

@ urk - bah! ladybugs!!

@ cuteness - thats much better than a TOO expensive restaurant, and being surrounded by snobs! you too girl!!

@ phlippy - "nuffsaid!!

@ grem - thank you for that conclusion Bill Nye the science guy.

@ arlene - yeah, most girls get mad if somebody else at work gets better flowers than them... strange that. And I guess they forgot coz theyre busy? dunno?

@ Wayne - so true, on one of the postsecret cards i read, it said something about hallmark taking away the love on valentines day or something....hey, ya gotta make a living!

@ samantha - Its still ok if its your first year, even the second year is ok, but if youve been going out with that person for a while, you dont need to go to such extreme measures anymore, then the person has to love you for who you are.

I buy myself undies for his valintines gift, then I pretend to be all sultry for a day untill his convinced its the best valintines gift his ever gotten

After that I wear them to feel all sultry

I just personally have a hard time celebrating something that singles people out for not being in a relationship. I don't think it's fair...that is just my opinion of course:)

I think I'll get my girl an ironing board for Valentines day. Oh wait, I don't have a girl. Maybe that's why ;o)

SaM-GiRL said...

@ lee - hahahaha!! nice!! that way, you both win.

@ jen - yeah, its not fair, but you get that with all special days, many ppl are alone at christmas, and I personally think THAT is the worst time of the year to be alone....

@ Lordwiggly - ........lol... yeah, i think that might have something to do with it.

Hey Sam your not stupid. The only thing I do for valentines is make my husband a card and he makes me one. doesn't cost a penny and half the time we do it to see what we'll both come up with!

I have to say i'm a bit of a sucker... probably coz there were so many val days when I secretly wished i had someone to spend it with.

But totally agree... it shouldn't be about $$$$ and hallmark should absolutely not profit in anyway. I recently wrote out 101 reasons/things i love about my man and curled up the papers and put it in a little bag. I think that is cool.

Also loving the idea of buying myself nice undies...NOSJUNKIE i think you're on to something (i'd far rather see la senze profit than hallmark!!!)

Hay... My Feed reader picked up a post from your page called Girls Rule the World, but it doesn't seem to exist.

What up?

SaM-GiRL said...

@ shadowfalcon - I did that last year, and I begged him to do the same, but he stresses too much, thinks his will be stupid, I dont care HOW stupid it is, its from him, thats what matters!

@ caz - lol, the men would love that!

@ duzbin - not sure, will have a look and see if i can fix it, otherwise...it probably doesnt exist anymore. lol

That is very true...

I'm attempting to make my honey a steak. I don't eat steak, nor have I ever made it so chances are good it won't be fantastic. But it's the thought that counts right?

(Hi, nice to meet you. Great blog!)

i am with you on that which is why all I did was write a love letter to Grumpy. Well that and when offered the chance I gave up my shift at the restaurant tonight so he and I can go out for dinner and spend some time together vs me working 16hs.

I totally agree Sam - I feel that the sweetest thing someone can do is go to the effort of doing something they wouldn't do, something individual & different. Like, if you always email eachother, write a love letter. If you hate cleaning, wash the dishes that night. Or something. In truth, money is cheap - it takes no thought or special love to buy a box of chocolates (unless it's something you know the person really likes). Be individual, makes them feel special. That doesn't require spending money, the best spent on a Valentine's "gift" is thought & effort.
